Ok, now what?

Well, in case you couldn't tell by the title of the blog or the profile, Tom and I have decided it's time to expand our family. We are going to adopt a child. We made this life changing decision last weekend and are now trying to find an adoption agency. This is the first and probably most important step in the adoption process. I've heard from several people who've adopted that you have to be comfortable with the people at the agency you decide on, after all they will be helping you find your child.

This process all began after attending an informational meeting in Ohio and while the Ohio meeting was very informative, the agencies that were in attendance weren't able to help us due to us living out of state. There is another informational meeting this Saturday, which we're hoping to gather even more information and more important information since it'll be in the state we live in. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. A colleague of mine has given us 3 different agencies that we'll be looking at to decide which one is right for us.

The whole process has us very excited and eager to get started. The idea of us being parents, is something we've always wanted and now that we're actively pursuing this it makes us even more sure that this is the direction we should be heading. We believe that this is the way God would like us to have children and we know there's a child that's waiting for us to find them.
