"Prego-it's in there!"

It seems that the cat...or should we say the baby is out of the bag. Before some of my former co-workers find out from someone other than myself it's time I let you in on our little secret. Where to begin. First, this is a baby (no duh). Second, Tom and I are expecting (biologically-not through adoption). This is baby's one and only ultrasound picture that we'll have.

I don't think I need to go through all the details of how we found out we were pregnant, but suffice it to say that we are going to have a child-around January 9. I am 14 weeks and 3 days pregnant. It's so exciting and yet emotional at the same time. We've known about this for at least a month now and it still doesn't seem real or possible. After 8 years of marriage I guess it was something that we didn't think would happen. Shows how great God is!

I'm trying to think of questions you'd have to ask me without getting too personal. Let's see:

No, we don't know what we're having (it's too early for us to know and we only get 1 ultrasound-so I guess it'll have to be a surprise).

Yes, I have morning sickness-to an extent (I'm working through it the best I can).

Thank goodness for me I haven't gained much weight (although I hear that comes later).

No, there is only one (they've only heard one heartbeat and only 1 baby on picture-thank goodness).

Yes, we have names in mind, but don't want to reveal them until Baby Avery is born.

Baby and I are healthy so far. (Let's pray that it stays that way).

I can't think of any other questions you may have at this point. Everyone in our families are very excited, as you can imagine. You are welcome to post freely now, even if you already knew. I guess I'm not very good at keeping secrets-never was.

Keep us in your prayers as we go through this and pray that everyone will be safe and healthy. Like I said we feel like this is a dream and don't want to wake up from it if it is. Thanks in advance for your positive thoughts. We'll keep you informed.

(Hope I don't get in trouble for using a company's line-I'm citing it anyway--it's the librarian in me--it's from Prego spaghetti sauce). :-)

I like the "prego" reference. I continue to thank God for a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby as I prayed thankfully for the baby you are now going to have.
All life is a miracle. I am so happy that you will get the experience of being a Mom. And of course I'm happy that as a result, I get to be a Grandma.
Love,
GG
