I'll apologize ahead of time to all of those anxiously awaiting pictures of our miracle-Collin Thomas Avery. I'm restricted to what I can do since I had a C-section so I'm just beginning to get clearance to go up and down stairs, although I'm really not supposed to do too much of it. First, let me say that the first evening home with him was tough, but it is getting easier each night. I'm hoping we'll be able to get into a routine with him pretty soon. He is so precious and we just can't get enough "eye time". We love to look at him and watch all of his expressions that he makes, especially while he's asleep. He is truly our miracle and we thank God that he's here and healthy.
For those of you that are curious if his picture is on the Reid website the answer is yes, it is. The password, which is 2 words is in this next sentence. The Baby is Ours and we're so excited for everyone to meet him. I'm also going to be sending some pictures to some of you via email so you can pass them along or print them off for your enjoyment.
My mom has come to stay with us for a couple weeks to help with laundry, dinners, etc. It has been a huge help already and can't imagine doing this by myself when Tom goes back to work. I hope it'll be easier by then.
Collin went to the doctor today for a quick check-up, since I'm breastfeeding they wanted to be sure he's gaining-and boy is he gaining. He was 7 pounds 11 ounces when we were discharged on Thursday and he now weighs 8 pounds 3 ounces-that's 9 ounces in 4 days. Needless to say they were very happy about that. We also had a list of questions, all of which were normal. He does have a blocked tear duct, which they said is normal too, but if it continues until he's 6 months old they'll refer him to a pediatric opthamologist. Let's hope it clears up soon. It looks like it has started, but we're curious to see what it's going to look like tomorrow morning.
That's all the posting for now, but will try and be a little more diligent in updating this. I'm sorry for the delay. Thank you for all the prayers and positive thoughts. We so appreciate your thinking of us.

I am comletely enjoying helping out the parents of my grandson!! Collin looks so much like Vickie did when she was his age.(doesn't seem that long ago) I enjoy just watching the faces he makes while he's asleep. I am so proud of Vickie and Tom for how great they are doing as parents(I had no doubts). My heart bursts with love and pride when I see "my baby" holding her baby. I've lost my heart to "my little man".
Love,
GG
