Collin Thomas is growing!

I can't believe that it's been almost 2 weeks since we brought our little boy home from the hospital. He is growing like a weed. How fast the time goes! We went to the doctor yesterday and Collin is now 9 pounds 3 3/4 ounces and measures at 22 inches. He's grown 1/2 inch since his birth and has gained a little over a pound in 1 week. I get discouraged and have some difficulty when I breastfeed, but it's all worth it when I know that he's growing and my hard work is paying off. The doctor did say it was okay to introduce him to formula and the bottle because it's obvious that he's doing well. I was a little relieved to hear that, just because that means Tom can help out with the feedings and it's not completely on me. I was not prepared for how difficult night time "naps" would be.

Tom went back to work this week and while he is working shorter hours I miss him being here and I know that he misses being here too. We have another new addition to the family-a puppy named Buddy. My mom is here and she's trying to get him trained at least so I can make it more manageable next week when I'm completely by myself, which I'm really nervous about. I have to do it sometime, so I might as well get used to it. Talk about jumping in with both feet. I'm sure I'll be fine, but again it's the unknown, just like the labor and delivery. Tom also completed the nursery this past weekend and it looks fabulous! I'm so proud of him and the work he did. I attached a picture. Now if we can just get Collin to use his room-the crib-to sleep in. Right now he's sleeping in a pumpkin seat, which means that I'm sleeping on the couch in the living room. Doesn't that sound like comfort? :-D I long for the night when I can return to my own bed. :-D

I'll have pictures of our newest addition soon. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers!

Don't get discouraged!!!! You can sleep when he gets older.

Are you crazy??? A PUPPY?????? Best of luck with that one. I know that you can do it on your own, just have confidence and things will work out. Just take one day at a time, and take it slow.. enjoy it, savor it, because it does go quickly.

Give him a hug and a kiss for me.
