Collin is 2 months!

I did this towards the end of February, but got busy preparing to go back to work and enjoying the little bit of time left I had with Collin so I didn't get to post this as soon as I wanted to.

Today, March 2, was his first day at the sitter's and he did great! I know he did better than we did.

Enjoy the post and the pictures!

The first and most important item to happen to us is that we have found a babysitter. She is right around the corner (well a little bit further) from us and seems to be very nice. We had an interview with her on Monday and start this Monday dropping Collin off. How am I going to get through that first day (okay the first couple weeks maybe). Don't get me wrong-I'm looking forward to going back to work, but am sad to see my days with Collin end. I know they're not technically ending and maybe I'm overexagerating, but I'm feeling the anxiety already. It also won't help that I'll have a lot of time to think about him since this week is ISTEP testing.

If you couldn't tell I am going back to work Monday. I wish it were here and over already. (I know what am I saying-it's a Monday and I'm wishing the weekend away). I'm just praying that things go well at the babysitter's and he is better for her than he sometimes is for me.

I had a very difficult day yesterday. He was very fussy and nothing I did would quiet him down. I fed him, held him, put him in his swing and nothing seemed to work. He will go for hours without sleeping and then go for hours when he does finally crash. It's getting through the hours when he's so tired and fussy that is the hardest part and that's what I'm worried about on Monday.

We successfully took Collin back home last weekend to celebrate GG's birthday. It was a success too. The drive was very good. As a matter of fact, if I hadn't woken Collin up to sleep he would've slept the entire way home-3 1/2 to 4 hours. Collin went out to eat for the first time to our favorite Italian restaurant, Marconi's. This wasn't his first time out to eat, but the first time at Marconi's. He even got a children's menu, which I am going to put in his baby book. He also went to his first basketball game. We took him to our alma matter for his first game. We even got some very good pictures (see below). He slept the entire time, which is funny because we were trying to get him to go to sleep the entire time before we left. Almost at the moment we walked into the game, it was very loud in the gym, he fell asleep and slept through his cousins game and almost through the entire varsity game. We had a little bit of trouble getting Collin to sleep after the game, too much stimulation, but eventually he went to sleep and slept quite a while. We also asked two people to be godparents to Collin when we finally get him baptized. This will also take place back home. Coming back from Bellevue was better. I learned my lesson when we came up and didn't wake Collin up to eat. He slept almost all the way home, but it took a little longer because the roads were bad and we had to come a different way. (Buddy was very good too on his first long car ride).

I can't think of any other news. Just pray that things go well at the babysitter and that his parents can handle putting him in the care of someone else. In our heads we know he'll be taken care of and is in good hands, but it will take our hearts a while to get used to the idea.

I knew everyone would get through that first day and figured Collin would fare better than Mommy and Daddy.(I thought of all three of you often.) GG enjoyed having Collin go out to eat for her b-day. What a good boy he was, too! It already seems like so long ago that I saw him. He is growing so quickly. How I wish I lived closer and could help out more, especially the fussy times.
Love,
GG
