Baby showers-I've had 2 baby showers since our last post (see pictures below). One was given by my cousins: Lisa, Kathy, and Debb. It was a lot of fun and I got to catch up with a lot of people. The other shower was given by the fifth grade teachers and 3 other colleagues at my school. That was also a lot of fun. I've received all of the basics that we need for Baby Avery's arrival so it can arrive anytime, although I would like the baby to arrive when it's healthy enough and not too early.
I also have been to the doctor for a checkup. The baby's heartrate was in the 140s this time, which was not a big concern. I actually lost 1 pound, but that wasn't a concern either because of the new diet I'm on. If I lose more weight though that's when the doctor and dietician begin to get worried. The doctor also felt and measured the baby. I'm not sure how big the baby is at this point, but he did say that the baby's head is down. Some of the teachers at school have even commented that they think I've dropped, which makes Tom and I both very nervous (with anticipation).
Tom has put the stroller together and looked at the car seat. The car seat isn't in the car yet, but we know how to separate the car seat from the base and hook up the car seat to the stroller.
I've been trying to get as much done around the house as possible. I've begun wrapping Christmas presents, sent out our Christmas cards, and have begun to wash baby clothes. We've also started working on putting things away in the nursery.
The biggest preparation I did after school today, getting a pediatrician lined up for the baby. When we go into the hospital to have our baby we tell the maternity ward who we'd like to have and then that's the doctor we get. I'm soooooooo excited because the one that we've heard positive comments about is accepting new patients, so of course, he's the one we're going to name. This is a huge burden off of our shoulders and another item we can cross off our "To do before the baby comes" list. :-D

FUN FUN FUN....But I can't wait for the REAL fun to begin!!!
Glad you enjoyed your shower at school!
Glad to hear you are set and ready to go... at least you think you are :D There are always things to get or wash or just do. But it is all worth it in the end.
Glad you had a good time at your showers and hopefully Baby Avery is set and ready to enjoy all of the gifts.

Sorry I haven't posted for a while, but the puppies are keeping me very busy. I'm so glad that the preparations for baby are almost complete. :) I'll be down next weekend to get the house ready for Christmas and baby's arrival. I continue to pray for a healthy delivery and a healthy baby. Anticipation...
Love,
GG
