I'm so glad I got the opportunity to have a snow day before the baby comes. I was worried they would all happen while I was off of school for maternity leave. Actually, we had some really bad ice this morning and we started as a delay and then eventually closed. They were calling for it yesterday and I was expecting it today. You know what I did today on my day off---absolutely nothing! As evening approaches I've begun to regret that, but it was nice to take it easy. I know that won't be possible in a couple of more weeks.
I had a doctor appointment today, it was my last 2 week checkup. Now I begin going to the doctor every week. The doctor said everything looked good. My blood pressure was good and the baby's heartrate was 144, which is in the normal range. The baby is in position so ideally this could happen anytime. There didn't seem to be any concerns from the doctor and his advice was to get my bag packed and the carseat in the car. Half of this is finished-the carseat's in. I guess I need to get rolling on packing my bag.
We also had probably our last meal out tonight just the 2 of us. We went to Old Richmond Inn, which is a little nicer place to eat then where we usually go. It was nice to spend time just the two of us and talk about what it's going to be like when little Collin or Susan join our family. We talked about parenting and if we're ready for our journey ahead (it's a little late to be wondering this now). :-D Anyway, it was very nice and enjoyable to be just the 2 of us out for one last time before Baby Avery's arrival.
There is really not much else going on. This week will be my last week of school because I will begin my maternity leave in January and be off for at least a month (6 weeks). This is also going to be different when January comes and I'm not back at school. Don't get me wrong-I'm not wishing the time away. As I've told colleagues, my work at school will be done for a month, but that means the real work will begin. We're looking forward to it.
Please continue thoughts and prayers as we get even closer to our baby's arrival. We are hoping things go smoothly.
